Catriel
Efrony was born in Vienna, Austria in 1923. When the Nazis came
to power, he immigrated to Israel where ha become one of the
founders of Kibbutz Gesher in the Jordan Valley.
He
studied art with Streichman at the Avni Institute of art in
Tel Aviv. Following that, he spent three years in South America,
studying at the Bellas Artes in Rio de Janeiro, and underwent
a further period of training in Paris.
His
style has undergone a gradual metamorphosis over the years -
from lyrical abstractionism to a more figurative expressionism.
Catriel
Efrony lives and works in the enchanting artists' quarter of
Zfat, where he is a member of the Artists' Colony.
He
is also a member of the Israeli Painters and Sculptors Association.
His work is on display at his gallery in Zfat and the General
Exhibition of the Artists' Colony.
